Finance Overview

Overview

The Finance domain is GM's enterprise foundation for financial, operational, and vehicle profitability data. It is the source of consolidated financials reported to the Senior Leadership Team and external investors, and it powers the day-to-day analytics behind vehicle profitability, product cost, supplier spend, capital, cash flow, planning, and program imperatives.

Finance data is curated by Finance Data Engineering into a governed set of data products — each with its own gold-layer catalog schema, semantic models, dashboards, and certified business owners — so analysts, planners, and executives can find trusted answers without rebuilding logic across systems.
