Overview
The Sales Business Data Catalog is a centralized inventory of sales-related data assets across the enterprise, designed to make information on vehicle ownership, sales orders, and customer delivery easily discoverable, understandable, and trustworthy. It provides both business and technical users with context, definitions, and lineage for sales data, ensuring consistency and enabling better decision-making.

| Customer Delivery | Information about the actual delivery of a vehicle to a customer, including when, through what dealer, and the delivery type. |
| Sales Order | Information about the confirmation of an upcoming purchase by an individual or organization, including what is to be pending for a purchase. |
| Vehicle Ownership | Determining vehicle acquisition, sales, ordering, and incentives as part of the vehicle purchase process and tracking the ownership of the vehicle throughout its lifecycle. |
Key Benefits
Ability to get information about the orders of a vehicle such as when, by whom, for what, and if directly for a customer. This includes a forecast product release date if the order has not been fulfilled.
Additionally, information about the delivery of the order including the purpose, timing, and to whom the vehicle was delivered.
Getting Access and Data Catalog:
All requests to access GM data must be reviewed and approved by GM’s privacy team via the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) tool. GM’s PIA tool helps to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks associated with a particular product or service—especially when it collects, uses, stores, or shares personal data. If a PIA has not been approved for your use case, you can submit one using the link: epia.gm.com.
